Fruits, Vegetables & Herbs for Aging

Aging...ah...if only we could look young for forever!

I firmly believe that a vegetarian diet high in raw unprocessed fruits and vegetables keeps us looking young. I've met many people with great diets and they look *fabulous*. All the creams, anti-sging treatments and procedures don't hold a candle to what you put inside your body.

If you are putting pure unprocessed food in your body, it requires less energy to digest it and gives you maximum nutrition- nutrition that your body naturally uses to fight off free radicals.

For example, take a look at people that have had transplants, surgeries, chemo or high stress lives. Their body has more free radicals that they cannot fend off. They tend to age quicker. If thier body had more antioxiants to counter balance that, chances are they might have aged slower.

Recent studies have shown us...

...that the most important thing contributing towards looking older is oxidation, cells being damaged by free radicals.

Antioxidants help fight off and protect the body from free radicals. Antioxidants are found in all fruits and vegetables. They are higher in berries and bright colored produce.

Juice and eat a maximum amount of bright colored and antioxidant rich foods to help your body fend off aging- its the cheapest, easiest way to keep looking young.

Fruits and vegetables to juice:

Apples, Blueberries, Figs, Grapefruit, Grapes, Melons, Oranges, Papaya, Pears, Raspberries, Strawberries, Beets, Broccoli, Cabbage, Carrots, Celery, Leafy Greens, Onions, Pumpkin, Sweet Potatoes, Tomatoes.

Herbs to add to teas or juice:

Cayenne, German Chamomile, Garlic, Ginger, Gingko, Green Tea, Lemon Balm, Milk Thistle, Oregno, Parsley, Peppermint, Rosemary, Sage, Spearmint, Thyme, Tumeric.

Any combinations of these fruit, veggie and herbs help to provide antioxidants.

Try this berry juice recipe for some maxed out antioxidants!

  • 1 cup of blackberries
  • 2 spears of pineapple
  • 1/2 cup of blueberries
  • 1/2 cup of raspberries
  • 3 sprigs of parsley
To get antioxidants, generally any fruit juice recipe is a good choice.
