Fruits, Vegetables and Herbs used for Bronchitis and Chest Congestion
Bronchitis is no fun. It is inflammation of the bronchial tubes with chest congestion and cough. Causes include bacteria, virus, or exposure to chemical toxins, smoke.
The body needs to get that inflammation down in this circumstance. Juicing can help give your body the nutrition it needs to heal itself.
Try a mixture of the suggestions below. Juice continuously and even consider a juice fast combined with soups and smoothies until symptoms clear up. If our bodies have less to digest it tends to focus the energy on getting well- this is where juicing comes in handy!
I have found that rubbing a carrier oil(like almond or coconut) and then peppermint, wintergreen or eucalyptus essentail oil directly on the chest clears congestion and helps tremendously.
Fruits and Vegetables:
Apricots, Citrus Fruit, Cranberries, Pears, Broccoli, Cabbage, Carrots, Leafy Greens, Onions, Red and Green Peppers, Turnips, Watercress.
Herbs:
Cayenne, Cinnamon, Elderberries, Fenugreek Seeds, Garlic, Ginger, Hyssop, Licorice, Marshmallow, Nettle Leaf, Parsley, Plantain, Thyme.
A good recipe for help...
- 3 stalks of celery
- Half of an onion
- 1 clove of garlic
- 1 stalk of broccoli
- 1 apple
Juice, whisk together and drink!
While this tastes strong, its antibiotic and antibacterial power is great.
