Detox Diet Plan

A detox diet is a great way to cleanse the body of toxins and even lose weight. This juicing program can be made into a 3 day diet or a 7 day diet. Of course a week is always better, the 3 day will give your body a rest to cleanse and nourish if that is all you have time for.

This is not a juice fasting plan, but more of a raw food cleanse for those that prefer to eat rather then fast for detox purposes. The whole idea behind this detox diet is to get your body to cleanse internally and eliminate toxins that can cause a whole host of health problems. Think of it like….cleaning out the inside. Stay focused and concentrate on doing something truly good for your body.

On this plan you will eat pure, whole and mostly raw foods. You’ll incorporate juice for breakfast and increase consumption of water, fresh vegetable juice and herb tea to flush toxins. Make a glass of fresh juice any time you feel hungry.

Follow the menu plan below to start detoxifying.


The step by step detox plan

upon rising

Drink 1 cup of filtered water


20 minutes later drink the following recipe. It is a stimulant to flush toxins:

1 cup of water
Juice of 1 lemon or lime
1 inch piece of ginger root
1 garlic clove
1 tablespoon of udos oil
1 tablespoon of coconut oil

Juice the garlic, lemon/lime,and ginger. Mix with the rest of the ingredients in a blender or with a spoon.


breakfast

A glass of any fruit juice


lunch

Choose any healthy smoothie (no protein powders, just fresh blended & juiced raw produce) or raw soup recipe.

If you are still hungry have a vegetable salad or raw vegetable sticks (carrots, celery).


afternoon

Green drink (salad leaves blended with water) or freshly juiced green veggie: cucumber, parsley, spinach, kale, celery, green saladAdd lemon, ginger or mint to enhance flavor.

About 1 ½ hours before dinner have water or herbal tea with lemon


dinner

Vegetable salad with a lemon and olive oil dressing (no croutons or cheese- only vegetables. For variety add olives, sundried tomatoes, capers and herbs)Vegetable broth.


night- before bed

Chamomile or peppermint tea

Follow this diet for up to a week for a general detoxification of your body. A 3 day detox diet is enough for a short cleanse but 7 days is ideal. You’ll even find you might lose weight and have a great amount of energy. Switch up the juices, smoothies and salads for variety.
