Fruits, Vegetables and Herbs Used For Influenza
The flu, or influenza, is a viral infection of teh respiratory tract. Symptoms can include chills, fever, cough, headache, achiness, fatigue, and lack of appetite.
Treating it early can shorten recovery time.
A top priority would be rest, allowing the body to heal. Aid your body with plenty of fluids, fresh juices made with the suggestions below. This will encourage the elimination of toxins.
If I get the flu, I make sure to juice at least a clove or two of garlic. Watch out, it can be strong, but it's a strong antibiotic that can get rid of the nasties!
Fruits and Vegetables:
Lemon, Oranges, Pineapple, Broccoli, Carrots, Artichoke, Parsley, Strawberries, Spinach, Watercress
Herbs to juice or take in tincture form:
*Boneset* (good for fevers), Cayenne, Cinnamon, Echinacea (to build immunity), Elder Flower, Garlic, Ginger, Licorice, Peppermint, Thyme, Yarrow
A good recipe
- 2 stalks of celery
- 2 carrots
- 1 garlic clove
- 1 apple
- 1/2 inch peice of ginger root
- 1/2 lemon, peeled
