Soups in vitamix

Q: I was wondering how long you have to let the Vitamix run to make soups hot? And is it designed to do this, will it damage the machine?

A: Sally, It typically takes about 6-8 minutes to get it to a nice warm soup temperature. After the soup is smooth, you want to put it on the highest variable, highest setting and let it go. Make sure you have the lid on as it could splash.

It is absolutely designed to do this and the Vitamix corporation uses this demonstration frequently to show what it can do. The machine can handle a lot. In fact, making hot soup is probably less trying on the machine then crushing the ice. Don't worry, I've made hot soups and ice creams over and over again in my machine. It doesn't even stutter! Happy soup making (without a pot)!
