A frozen fruit smoothie is so great. Number one, you can make it in a flash. Number two, the texture frozen fruit gives to a smoothie is just wonderful. You can make them creamy, smooth and sweet.
My one tip: Always keep frozen fruit in your freezer. Buy it frozen, or be sure to cut up extra in season fruit and put it in a baggie. Some people even like to portion out the fruit for an individual frozen fruit smoothie so that they don't have to worry about measuring or breaking apart one big block.
If you need to thaw out your bag of frozen fruit, add hot water to the outside of the bag, or add the closed bag to a large bowl of hot water. A few minutes of that will make it manageable. Don't microwave it- that will cook the fruit.
Blending frozen fruit: If you have had an issue with your blender blending frozen fruit in the past, check out the Vitamix. It will not break from frozen ingredients and is quite powerful.
