Fruits, Vegetables and Herbs for Urinary Tract Infections
Urinary tract infections can be caused by yeast or bacteria. The infection can pass into the bladder and bacteria can settle into the irritated tissue of the bladder.
Inflammation of the bladder is characterized by frequent painful urination.
Fruits and vegetables to juice:
Blueberry, *Cranberries, Lemon, Watermelon, Carrot, Celery, Fennel, Onion, Parsnip, Turnip
Herbs to juice or take in tinctures:
Buchu, Cinnamon, Coriander, Cumin, Dandelion, Echinacea, Fennel, Garlic, Marshmallow Root, Nettle, Slippery Elm Bark Powder, Yarrow
Cranberry juice
To prevent or help treat urinary and bladder infections juice at least 1/2 cup of cranberries, blend with other juices as desired(I like apple) and take every day for a minimum of of 3 weeks.
A good recipe
Cranberry juice, hands down, is the best for preventing and getting rid of infections. If you want more flavor, here's another recipe that works well...
- 1 cup of blueberries
- 1 slice of watermelon
- 1/4 cup of cranberries
